Background
About Melissa
Melissa graduated from Curtin University in 2018 with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy. Since graduating, she has worked across community physiotherapy, aged care, and private practices in New South Wales, Victoria, and Western Australia before finding her home at Move Physiotherapy in 2022.
As a professional classical ballet dancer — whose career took her as far as Germany — Mel brings a unique understanding of the injuries commonly associated with dance and performing arts populations. This includes foot and ankle injuries, hypermobility-related syndromes, and other lower limb pathologies.
As an experienced clinician, Mel has extensive experience with all walks of life. She has an excellent eye for human movement, and combined with her honed diagnostic skills, she ensures patients leave their appointment with a precise diagnosis and a carefully designed path to recovery.
Mel prides herself on getting to the root cause of pain and injury, combining manual therapy — including massage, joint mobilisation, manipulation, and dry needling — with exercise rehabilitation, with a particular emphasis on establishing correct fundamentals of rehabilitative movement patterns.
