Kiara La Rocca
Physiotherapist – Beeliar & East Fremantle
Kiara has been a part of the Move Physiotherapy team since 2021. Self-described as a “curious” physiotherapist, Kiara has a focus not only treating the symptom of pain; but as someone motivated to discover and treat the root cause. As a highly adaptable physiotherapist, Kiara is always searching for treatment that suits the individual – tailoring hands on treatment and exercise therapy for the individual who comes in the door.
Kiara has an interest in lower limb injuries in both adult and adolescent populations. For adolescents, these injuries include Severs Disease, Osgood Schlatters and Hypermobility Disorders. For adults, she can identify the many contributing factors towards knee and hip pain; such as Patellofemoral Joint Pain. She also takes a particular interest in the treatment of Tendon Pathologies such as Trochanteric Bursitis; and Hip and Knee Osteoarthritis.
Kiara has ongoing sports experience as a Netball coach and player. She understands the rehabilitation needs and complexities of this, and similar sports. She is no stranger to rehabilitating ankle injuries – injuries that are commonly mistaken as simple and therefore poorly treated.
Kiara also has a particular interest in neurological rehabilitation – in particular, rehabilitation after a stroke or spinal cord injury. She also manages a number of children and young adults with impairments as a result of cerebral palsy.
With a keen focus on helping clients build their capacity, she is passionate about movement and strongly believes in working within the capacities of her clients to provide a plan to return them to the activities they love, through exercise rehabilitation and developing healthy lifestyle routines to assist them in managing pain.
Kiara has also recently developed an interest in education on diet – and how this can impact both inflammation and recovery from sport, exercise, and injury recovery.
As a result, Kiara is a holistic practitioner who works diligently to empower clients in their recovery.
