Dry Needling by Experienced Physios
in Booragoon, Beeliar & East Fremantle
Dry Needling is a precise technique where a sterile, single-use needle is inserted directly into muscle trigger points—areas that traditional massage or stretching can’t always reach. These ultra-thin needles (about 0.30mm in diameter) help stimulate a natural muscle twitch response that enhances circulation, reduces pain, and improves movement.
Dry Needling is particularly effective for alleviating neck, upper trapezius, back and hip pain, though it is effective for treating a wide range of musculoskeletal injuries. It can target deeper muscular trigger points which are otherwise difficult to reach and treat with traditional massage or stretching.
Our treatments are delivered by experienced Physiotherapists and Remedial Therapists who have undergone specialised training in this technique.
We offer Dry Needling at our Booragoon, East Fremantle and Beeliar locations.
Benefits of Dry Needling

✅ Go To Treatment For Common Aches and Pains: Evidence-based treatment for headaches, neck and shoulder tightness, achilles pain and tennis elbow.
✅ Targets ‘Hard To Reach’ Spots: Dry Needling can effectively ‘hit’ those deeper muscles that your normal remedial massage can’t hit.
✅ Reduces Muscle Spasm/Knots: Hits deeper muscle trigger points, helping you move more freely – often instantly.
✅ Faster Pain Relief: Calms overactive trigger points and down-regulates our pain-receptors helping you feel better, faster.
The Move Physiotherapy Approach

Accurate Diagnosis
Our experienced assess your injury and provide an accurate diagnosis. This may involve sending you off for scans such as X-Rays, MRIs and as needed. You will be given a recovery timeframe and plan to achieve this timeframe.

Pain Relief Phase
Our physiotherapists can use techniques such as massage, joint mobilisation, manipulation and dry needling. The majority of acute pain will settle within 48-72 hours of receiving treatment and education on how to best manage your injury.

Muscle Strength Testing
The majority of injuries occur because your injured structure cannot tolerate the load being placed through it – causing it to strain or move into a state of protective spasm.
For these injuries, we need to assess what muscles are not doing their share of the load! By accurately diagnosing our weakness we can tailor our rehab plans specifically to you.

Exercise Rehabilitation
Probably the most poorly performed aspect of Physiotherapy – but where Move Physiotherapy excels. We can tailor our rehab programs to you, to ensure you are safely challenged in a way to improve strength and build resiliency. All of our facilities are equipped with onsite gym setups.

✅ Measure Muscle Balance/Symmetry: Are you stronger on one side compared to another? These measures can determine whether you have truly recovered from injury and predict future injury.
✅ Ensure You Recover Fully: Compare your injured body part to your uninjured side to ensure you recover your muscle strength and power.
