Looking to Build Core Strength? Try Clinical Pilates!

 

Move Physiotherapy prides itself on providing an industry leading exercise rehabilitation service to our local communities. As a pillar of this exercise rehabilitation, we are able to offer both Reformer and Mat Pilates at our Booragoon Studio.

Clinical Pilates combines the principles of traditional Pilates with the rehabilitative expertise of your physiotherapist. It is a low impact exercise for the hips, knees and back; and allows strengthening and gentle stretching of tissues without aggravation of injury.

As a part of your Clinical Pilates program, clients will undergo an initial comprehensive assessment with a Physiotherapist. Your physiotherapist will identify areas of tightness and weakness which are contributing towards your pain and injury; before prescribing an individualised program to address these factors. This will in turn rehabilitate your injury.

In many cases, if we are able to effectively address these areas of tightness and weakness, we can eliminate long standing pain, or in the case of recurrent injuries – prevent your pain from recurring.

Clinical Pilates is highly effective for all ages and body types. If you would like to prevent injury and develop your core strength, from which you can progress into other aspects of health and fitness, then Pilates is for you.

To get started:

      1. Book your FREE Pilates Assessment. This is a goal-setting and movement screen completed by your Physiotherapist. 
      2. Pass your Clinical Pilates competency. These are a series of 1:1 Clinical Pilates sessions where you can become proficient in the basics of an individualised program. 
      3. Join a Small Group Session (if you want!)
