At Move Physiotherapy, our General Physiotherapy services are dedicated to treating everyday aches and pains. These include acute and chronic conditions affecting the back, neck, and shoulders. Our goal is to provide fast pain relief; and enhance your overall well-being.

Other common injuries treated include shoulder pain including rotator cuff tears and bursitis, hip and knee pain. Head to our ‘Conditions’ tab for more detailed information on common causes of pain in these areas.

Our team of highly experienced physiotherapists conduct comprehensive assessments. Our longer appointment times ensure we listen and understand your injury, provide an accurate diagnosis and deliver significant improvements from your very first appointment.

We are conveniently located in Booragoon, Fremantle and Beeliar.

The Move Physiotherapy Approach

Our approach begins with a ‘pain relief’ phase. We can employ techniques such as massage, joint mobilisation and manipulation and dry needling. The majority of acute pain will settle within 48-72 hours after receiving treatment and education on how to best manage this acute phase of injury.

We then need to determine ‘why’ your pain has occurred in the first place. This is especially relevant in the case of recurrent pain and injury. Muscle tightness often results from overload, which can occur if a muscle is weak and unable to handle everyday movements. This may simply be because your tight muscle itself is weak, and unable to cope with normal movement demands. Or, it can occur because an associated area is weaker, and your tight muscle is being asked to do more than it would normally do.

For instance, many individuals experience persistent soreness in the neck and upper trapezius muscles. This can either be because the neck muscles and upper trapezius are weaker – or more commonly, because the mid-back is weaker, and the upper traps are doing this extra work. Strengthening the appropriate muscles can significantly reduce or even eliminate persistent tightness.

However, strengthening exercises need to be significant enough in intensity to build this strength. Hint: probably more so than your classic theraband exercises that have been given out by physiotherapists of yesteryear.

We will work with you to develop a personalized rehabilitation plan, whether it’s home-based or supervised by our physiotherapists in individual or group sessions.
